I hope you know that we would’ve never gotten nominated for a Grammy without you, in fact, the song “Uncomfortable” would not even exist without the comradery we shared and all time you put in with us. You pushed me further than anyone ever has while recording an album. You Never settle for “good” or even “great”. One of your many mantras being, “never less...always more”. I showed you dozens of great songs for #vicious and they would’ve been just fine...but you pushed me to look deeper, and to work harder...As a result, this album is the most Me, full of my truth, full of all the things we laughed about, cried about and were pissed off about. While recording, you were never more than 5 feet from me, miming every note, throwing shapes, rocking the fuck out, or sharing in my tears. You showed me how to bridge the gap between live performance and a recorded album, you also showed me that I’m not crazy for following my gut, even if it seemed reckless or unorthodox...Even if no one understands....even if it’s going to make everyone #uncomfortable. As a result... I follow my gut everyday. I write everyday, about everything I’m feeling. I continue to build my legacy through song. You are the first producer we’ve worked with that isn’t caught up in all the industry bullshit and you actually believe that Rock Music is so much more than a career choice, more than a hobby...it chose us, and now it’s up to us to give it the respect it deserves.
