Today was one of those days that felt a bit discouraging and grueling. Nothing colossal, just the everyday grit and grind, and the challenges that can accompany them at times. I shared with Floyd my stresses feeling sort of down, and he reminded me of the quote above that we just read in Don Quixote this morning. It reminded me in that very moment how grateful I am that when the world around feels harsh, I have a wonderful loving support system at home. I felt seen and loved in this small everyday instance and suddenly my focus shifted on the more important things in life. It’s easy to let little woes overshadow everything else, but in actuality the good that is all around and right before us in the tiniest and sometimes most mundane of details is much bigger. We all go and grow through struggles, challenges, setbacks, nemeses and the like, but through it and in it, there are gifts. I’m thankful for this. And thankful for my husband and the ways he studies my ever intricate and sensitive heart to know how to speak to it. I decided to share a peek in my actual personal journal tonight with the real writings from my heart. Thank you all for creating an atmosphere where I can not only share the inspiring aspects of life, but the real ones too.
