When Div Turakhia was just about 7 or 8-years-old, he began teaching himself computer programming. Today, he’s one of India’s youngest self-made billionaires after selling his startup Media.net for about $900 million.

Along with the massive sale of his startup, he also founded a holding company — which reports $250 million in annual revenue — with his older brother Bhavin.

But Turakhia’s success didn’t come easy: The 36-year-old says he’s been working nonstop for more than 20 years. In fact, the billionaire started his first business when he was 16-years-old with a only $500 loan from his father. And a certain piece of advice Turakhia’s father offered has stuck with him since.
