This was my first @voguegermany shoot by Karl in Rügen, one of Germany’s most beautiful islands. I turned 16 on this day but didn’t tell anyone because I felt too young. We only shot during sunset because that was his favorite light and he was the fastest photographer. I remember @siritollerod and me running up the mountain in the dark after wrap and falling over the long dresses, terrified we had ruined the couture gowns, but Karl smiled and said it’s fine cause we got the shots already. My next birthday I spent with Karl as well, at the @シャネル couture show in Paris and my mom came to watch. Looking back I feel like I was the luckiest teenager growing up around such an icon with the fastest and wittiest German humor. He was the first to tell me the “bump” on my nose that all of a sudden came at 17 was actually beautiful and kept making me pose in profile nonstop. So many little memories are coming back to me now... #ripkarllagerfeld
