Photo by @lucianocandisani ( Luciano Candisani ). Photography is interpretation and this sequence of images shows it well. In the first image one, made by my friend @grateful_manu, I appear in front of a humpback whale in the shallow waters around Tonga a few minutes before I did the photograph that follows. It was one of the most exciting moments in more than twenty years working at sea. I was focused on the scene and had chosen to do in black and white. I wanted to extract the essence of the baby's mother's connection. Do you think the second image passes this idea that I I was seeking?
