Last night I had the great pleasure of presenting my dear friend and sister @ウィットニー・カミングス with the Humanitarian of the Year Award at the @animalhopeandwellness Gala . This event was put together to highlight the incredible efforts of Marc Ching and California Legislators like Assemblymember Laura Friedman who are making real shifts through laws put in place to protect animals. Laura Friedman aka all around badass was the one who introduced the bill to ban the sale of fur in California...just one of her many accomplishments. What an honor it is to sit in the presence of such powerful individuals who use their power and voice to help those who cannot speak for themselves. And @ウィットニー・カミングス you are beyond deserving of this award my friend. As I said in my speech, I hope I come back as an animal in my next life so I can find you as my fairy-godmother.
Ps Thank you @jpgaultierofficial for deciding to go fur-free and recognizing the industry as “absolutely deplorable” in your statement . I have been dying to wear this vintage cruelty free piece of yours as someone who has a company centered around sustainable fashion (there is nothing more sustainable than rewearing clothing), and couldn’t be more excited about you making the official shift. As I spoke about last night, we need to applaud people for incremental change and ANY step taken in the right direction.
