Although she had planned to work with Prince on more material, she couldn’t stand the Minnesota winters long enough to make more than the track "Love Song" at Paisley Park. "We were friends and talked about working together, so I went to Minneapolis to write some stuff with him," Madonna recalled in an interview with Yahoo in 2014. "Quite frankly I couldn’t stand Minneapolis. When I went there, it was like 20 degrees below zero, and it was really desolate. I was miserable and I couldn’t write or work under those circumstances." Prince ended up contributing playing to a few tracks on Like a Prayer, including the chugging opening guitar riff on her single "Like a Prayer," but "Love Song" endures as his only credited performance on the album.
