This was a unique morning as rain from the night before flooded the flats and created breathtaking reflections in the water. The flats formed when ancient Lake Bonneville dried up years ago. As water evaporated, salt deposits were left. During the last Ice Age, about 15,000 years ago, Lake Bonneville's size was equivalent to the size of Lake Michigan. It expanded across one-third of present day Utah and into parts of neighboring states. #fly #utah #saltflats
