My new video is all about millennials. They get a bad rep, and are apparently pretty burnt out. I gave it some thought and came up a few ways they can counteract that burnout. Watch the video at the link in my profile!

Wow. this video is actually worse than your one on polyamory. It was rude and condescending. Which millennials are you speaking to? Because most of us are working really hard at jobs we don't like just to get ahead, just like the generation before us. because most of the people I know who are my age and in the millennial bracket are carrying massive student loans, facing getting paid less to do the same work as our older counterparts, and fighting against corruption and greed that is systemic in the business community. because the millennials I know are struggling just like every generation has before, and even more so because of the added frustrations of technology. You're right! I don't like sitting in traffic, and if I can use an app to get around it, great. You know what? I do have my groceries delivered. not because I have instant gratification, or issues standing in line. But because I'm genuinely tired, out of spoons, and have a billion things to do and I don't need to waste time at the grocery store when I can just pay someone to do it. You're right. we are burning out. We're burning out because of society. We're burning out because of personal expectations, and while they're not always high, I do hope people to high standards of behavior. I am burning out as a librarian, educator, mental health advocate, animal rights advocate and so much more. Do you know what it would actually make me feel a little less burnout? Not having to fight ridiculous stereotypes placed on me by someone who has no clue what my life is like. Not having to constantly be on the warpath for well-funded education systems, well-funded healthcare systems, and equal rights for people. not having to worry about whether or not I'm actually going to be able to retire in the career that I have chosen because I love it, because people refuse to see the value of the things that I bring. Not having to take time out of my day to respond to someone that I honestly respect, but is seriously misguided in her advice. I did my Master's thesis on inter-generational archiving and millennials are a lot like baby boomers. We don't live to work,we work to live.

I think its because a lot of millenials stay up late, go to school and work parttime, go to the gym, have friends and a boyfriend/girlfriend and basically try to take on too much, as if they were invincible or something. Who is teaching them to take care of themselves and to learn valuable life skills?? Probably not their parents, who have also fallen victim to materialism/consumerism and have to spend most of their time working to pay off their credit card debt, mortgage and whatever else.

@missmayim this isn’t specifically about millennials, but it is about a much better definition of “burnout.” I’m both a millennial and in the medical field, and I think this video translates well to millennial issues and the difficulty we have making ends meet while still trying to contribute to society. https://youtu.be/L_1PNZdHq6Q

You do realize that a large portion of your fans is comprised of millennials who look up to you about social justice, equality, and stepping away from stereotyping, right? This is extremely disappointing seeing you act in this video the way you are describing “millennials” to be acting...

I am a millennial, but one of the older ones. So I can relate to some of your upbringing such as not always having technology at my fingertips. But I can also relate to other aspects of the millennial as well. Best of both worlds, I suppose.

Honestly, we're burned out because we graduated college at the onset of the great recession and went from educated, ambitious youths to nihilists who have known nothing but anxiety, instability and stagnant wages in our adult lives.
