izzy0205_ Ellie: yesterday in Alabama just wasn't your day. But I've seen what you can do--and you're absolutely right... You and every gymnast I've ever watched from the time I was 6 (and I am now 48!) impress me with all of the things us mere mortals can only dream of doing. You may not have gotten a championship--but you're back, you didn't give up, and that matters to the little girls looking up to you right now. Keep at it--there's much more for Ellie Downie to do, yet!

go_west84 Gymnastics has never been my thing but it’s a massive part of my daughters life, I took her too Birmingham to watch you and the glow on her face said it all, what an amazing evening, she’s only 8 and when things aren’t going her way she is so hard on herself and as much as you probably want to forget seeing you fall and get up and go again I think was a big lesson for her that sometimes it just doesn’t go to plan but you have to keep battling.@elliedownie
