ジョシュ・ブローリンさんのインスタグラム写真 - (ジョシュ・ブローリンInstagram)「Lawrence Ferlinghetti is 100 today. City Lights Books welcomed me as a boy, a late teenager, traveling alone by train, having delved into Corso and Kerouac, that gasoline verbiage that ignited my love of wordsmithing, and gave me on a glistening platter of dirty streets and Prévert grocery store bag scribblings, a writer’s worry and a songbird’s passion. City Lights became my anvil on which I would tear my hammers trying to sculpt any hot iron sentences that were, at that time, more glass than any kind of metal. It was walking passed all the smut houses of North Beach, cigarette in mouth, when Eddie Vedder’s lyrics were still seedlings, working up to a run across the boulevard jumping over or even through a cab maybe or from another late night drunken run in to that awning that was my salvation: millions and millions and millions of words manifested in flying, in poems, in anything can happens, in prose, eras, ideas, imbroglios, and in relationships that lived great lives even if they were honestly propelled by mundanity except for a slight but often spasm of the thumb and forefinger. And then it wasn’t until a couple of years later that I heard my dear friend, Anthony Zerbe speak “Junkman’s Obbligato” on an Arizona stage with the late, great Roscoe Lee Brown and I was forever indebted to anyone who understands the music of words, the Mozart of street language, the Chopin of how a word like ‘arrow’ can sometimes pierce even deeper than the real thing. There are certain people who make this a better, more colorful existing, and for 100 years this has been one of a group that thrives in spite of all their chaotic oil slickings of a life. Happy Birthday, Lawrence Ferlinghetti. You gifted a lost boy a home for life. #lawrenceferlinghetti @citylightsbooks #jacquesprévert #northbeach #ferlinghetti100」3月24日 23時34分 - joshbrolin
