Photo by @kiliiiyuyan | An ivuniq, or ice pressure ridge, snakes along the sea ice, presenting a mountainous obstacle to indigenous Iñupiaq hunters. To reach the edge of the ice, they must manually break down and move dozens of these ridges so that their skinboats can pass quickly in the event of sea ice breakup. Follow me, @kiliiiyuyan, for more from the Arctic and indigenous worlds. #arctic #alaska #inuit
