Folks, this is one of the many shocking comments from a cat owner in West Michigan who is most likely being deceived by her laser declawing veterinarian.😾
.
There's a very disturbing phenomenon that is going on in this area and we believe it is because most of the vets in this area declaw cats and make easy and good money from doing this mutilating amputation procedure.
These unethical declawing vets don't want the public to know the awful truth about how declawing harms the health and well-being of a cat or how easy it is to use the humane options like scratching posts, nail trims, deterrents, etc. .
We are working on some big campaigns to educate the public in this area about the facts about declawing so that this willful ignorance doesn't keep going.
.
We need your help more than ever to accomplish our mission! www.citythekitty.org .
Declawing is animal cruelty and it is banned in 42 countries for good reason. Thankfully Canadian veterinarians are voting to ban it in their country. So far, 5 Provinces have banned declawing. 🇨🇦 #westmichigan #catsofmichigan #stopdeclawing #veterinarian

@dexa.101 @pawproject's website is a good resource with plenty of information. In short, declawing removes both the claws and the toe bones they grow from, shifting the cat's posture to an unnatural one, which leads to arthritis as the cat ages. Because they're in pain and have no other means of self-defense, declawed cats are prone to biting more often. They are also known to avoid the litter box since digging through the litter hurts their mutilated feet even more. If they end up outside, they're especially vulnerable since they can't hunt for food or defend themselves from predators and other cats. If a declaw was particularly badly performed, the claw can regrow and injure the paw pads. So many side effects, all of them bad for the cat 😿

My first vet told me the same thing about laser declawing, that it causes little pain to the cat. But being a responsible pet mom, I had already done my own research on the topic BEFORE I even adopted my first kitten and so I told him no way! Education and research are so important and sadly not enough people learn about their cats care outside what their vet tells them.

Why is it so hard for people to just trim their cats claws. My baby gets a mani pedi and he’s fine. I can’t even imagine declawing a cat. It’s barbaric. He has his scratching post and yeah he may try to scratch up the carpet or a chair but you have a pet. You’re gonna have some losses. Don’t get a cat if you can’t afford to possibly lose something from scratching

@tra8224 So true! I just bought some new carpet tiles that my one cat is determined to destroy. 🤦 And it's my fault for not thinking about that before I bought them. It's not her fault for doing what comes natural to her. She just got herself some really pricey floor scratchers now. Lol

I wonder if this person can talk to any other animals? This person is a special kind of stupid. Learn to think for yourself and don’t blindly accept what your money grubbing vet tells you.

Yeah right, that's why declawing is illegal in 21 countries - cause it's actually good for your cat. How stupid can people be please? Such people shouldn't have any pets at all 😡
