Robotic harvesters are being used to carry out a commercial apple harvest in New Zealand, according to fruit grower T&G Global.
The automated apple picking robots have been developed by Abundant Robotics, a California-based technology firm. The robots are being used at orchards in the Hawkes Bay area on the east coast of New Zealand's North Island. A variety of apples are being harvested by the automated pickers and the fruit will be sold in New Zealand and around the world.
