As the sky over #Badlands #NationalPark in #SouthDakota shifts by the minute from sun to shade to color to darkness, the landscape tells the story of time on a much slower pace. The stripes in the rugged rock formations reflect geologic periods going back almost 75 million years. Erosion of these wrinkled and rolling hills also reveals an impressive assemblage of fossils, evidence of long extinct creatures. no rattlesnakes in spring but beautiful indian landscape in this NP close to Rapid City and Mt Rushmore. Good end of Rocky Mountains loop a few years ago...

Simply stunning!! The Badlands is my favorite place to just sit and watch the changing landscape. Watching a sunset there is a MUST!

I love SD. The black hills have some of the best hiking areas and the Badlands are top notch! Thanks for posting this 👍👍
