In celebration of the first week of "Play It Loud: Instruments of Rock and Roll," we're sharing #firsts in rock and roll history! #MuddyWaters—born April 4, 1913—moved from the Mississippi Delta to Chicago in 1943, where he formed the first significant electric blues band. Waters’ blend of rural blues and modern amplification profoundly influenced rock guitarists, including Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, and especially The Rolling Stones, whose band name comes from a song by Waters. This #guitar was one of the most important instruments used by Waters from 1958 until his death in 1983. Be one of the first to see the exhibition, open to Members this week and to the public on April 8. #MetRockandRoll⁣
