For today’s #MetCameo, we tagged up with @MetTeens educator Jeary Payne: “Honoré Daumier's Third-Class Carriage is a reminder of how far I've come as an educator. This was the first work of art that I taught from in our galleries, my lesson compared Daumier to Kendrick Lamar as both being artists who use social commentary to create art.”
🎨: Honoré #Daumier (French, 1808–1879). The Third-Class Carriage, ca. 1862–64. Oil on canvas. On view in Gallery 802. #TheMet

I was teen art educator , I only wanted to give the knoledge of space and time , because when you understand the meaning of these concepts may be are you closser of the big meaning. My art teacher Ulises Estrella gave me that treasure.

It pains me to hear that Daumier is being compared to Kendrick Lamar. One is a masterful painter, one makes rap.

Lamar’s 45 million dollars definitely screams third-class.
