Ces plis, apparus vers 1450, se retrouvent sur la houppelande contemporaine. La carrure du chancelier est très élargie. Cette déformation volontaire, artificielle, est obtenue par l’ajout de maheutres, boudins cylindriques couvrant le haut du bras.
