🌎💚Happy #EarthDay! The black-footed ferret nearly went extinct in the wild, but thanks to reintroduction efforts they have made a comeback. About 400 live in the American west today. Black-footed ferrets born at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute are released to the wild every year. #EarthOptimism
