"Why do I NEED rest days? Won't I achieve results faster if I workout more?"
The short answer is "No". It is SO important to include a rest day in your routine in order for your body to recover and THEN continue to work hard to achieve results.
Having a rest day not only gives your immune system and muscles time to recover but can also help to renew your focus for the week ahead after having some time out.
All of my days are technically 'rest days' at the moment (although I wouldn't call looking after a new born necessarily restful haha). For the ladies wanting suggestions on WHAT to do on your rest day, I always try to do something which will help my body to recover this could include anything from getting a massage, stretching, soaking in the bath or even just a good sleep in!
