Muslims across the globe will observe the Muslim holy month of Ramadan starting on May 5. It’s believed that God revealed the first verses of the Qur’an to Muhammed in Mecca on a night known as “Night of Power” (Laylat al-Qadr) during this month in 610 CE. During Ramadan, Muslims will fast, pray, and increase their charity toward others. The month is also a time of joy and celebration with friends and family.
