One of the things I love about my culture is story time.. Story telling is a living part of Arab culture.. tell me a #story and you will have all of my senses looking at you like a kid #culture #storytelling from one #generation to another .. that’s what I miss the most about #Ramadan in #Arab countries.. I hope you are enjoying your families and loved ones in this blessed month. #peace #spirituality #family #blessings

Jaz, I recommend a book called قول يا طير. It is Palestinian folk stories that my grandma -may her soul rest in peace- used to tell us when we were kids, grandma was born between 1918-1922. I was glad to find those stories documented, you'll love it.

I grew up the same way in the black community. I miss that. All the story tellers have left us. Makes me smile to know others still keep that tradition.
