This is something we don’t talk about often enough. Success for most, doesn’t happen overnight. There is so much going on behind the scenes for years, decades even, that only those close to you witness. Social media is a great tool, it’s brought most of the people I love so deeply into my life, & allowed us all to connect on a more intimate level. It also can paint a picture of others that isn’t reality, you see only the “highlight reel” as they say. I’ve definitely been guilty of seeing others landing jobs I didn’t get & I had to learn to say: “it wasn’t meant for you” & then let those feelings go. And let me tell you what- I’m much happier now. Keeping things in perspective is so important, (especially when you are a child of trauma like me) You never know what someone is really dealing with or what they sacrifice(d) to be where they are. Cheer them on, because when it’s your turn to shine you don’t wanna be standing in a quiet room with no applause.
