Thousands of women have shared abortion stories with #YouKnowMe. Busy Philipps was the first. She opened up last week about her abortion at 15 in a plea to protect women’s reproductive rights. On Tuesday, after reading about the abortion ban in Alabama, she decided to get other women to join her with the hashtag. “Women deserve compassion and understanding in their personal health choices,” Busy said. “This is something a lot of people experience and go through in their lives, and it’s a health care decision like many health care decisions.” @nytimesfashion spoke with @ビジー・フィリップス about speaking out, the response to her story and what comes next.
