When I found out I was pregnant I didn't think twice of continuing my touring commitments in Japan and Canada but as time went on, I realized it wouldn't be as simple as I thought. My body was changing so rapidly, and staying balanced while skating become more and more difficult. Every few days I had to adjust to a new body, a few extra pounds and a total lack of core strength. I also had to deal with a slightly more egotistical issue. Eric and I have always set a high standard for ourselves of how we wanted to perform and I found it really difficult to accept that I simply couldn't reach that bar anymore. I hated the feeling of performing less than what I know I am capable of. Lastly, it was difficult for manage my energy, and my complete lack of desire to skate for probably the first time in my life.
