The story of my granny’s life will always end with lung cancer winning the battle. No matter how brave or stubborn she the facts wont change. She’s gone. So... Truth time... I muster courage to share again each time I am asked. I spend time reminiscing. Searching through pictures. Crying as my heart still aches. Wondering if I am doing enough. I try to see the loss of her life as an opportunity to still honor her and the way she lived. To still allow her to continue to help others like she did when she was alive. To still allow her to inspire others like she did me. I try to do this by sharing her story and praying it will help save lives. Even when the process feels painful and progress feels invisible. I remember how necessary it is... how I wish I knew the facts... how strong she was in the face of cancer... how the end of her story can still carry hope. So forward I fight. With a force of us... broken hearted but bravely being a voice for the voiceless. It isn’t always easy but it’s necessary. I want to always be positive but need to be real and honest about how hard this is sometimes. Thanks to each of you for being by my side and supporting me.
