Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey this week signed an order for monuments to be erected in honor of civil rights icon Rosa Parks and activist Helen Keller, both natives of the state. Parks famously refused to give up her seat on a Montgomery bus in 1955, which became a pivotal moment in the Civil Rights movement.
