“I don't know what the reason is, but water is often present in my photos, like an unconscious obsession. Perhaps because water is omnipresent in my country, bordered by the Mediterranean Sea, the Black Sea, the Aegean Sea, the Marmara Sea, crossed by the Tigris and Euphrates and punctuated by many lakes. Water is part of me, it's there, it's throbbing.

In this photo, children are playing in the water while standing on the roof of the village’s sunken mosque in Savaşan, offering a surreal vision.

The village (only accessible by boat) attracts a lot of attention. More than 200,000 visitors come every year to admire a minaret visible above the water. The rest of the city disappeared after the Birecik Dam's construction.” - @emin_ozmen
