Director, Tim Atkinson, sent this email out to all his veterinary members today. 😾 . The NYSVMS also attached a letter of opposition to the anti-declawing bill from the National Animal Interest Alliance (NAIA) as an example for their members on how to write the Governor and ask him to stop this important cat protection bill. WOW! . When will these organizations stop using the senior citizen and immune-compromised, human health excuses to justify performing this inhumane and mutilating amputation procedure on cats?😾 . It's shocking to say the least that the NAIA says, ". But when properly performed with anesthetics and post-operative care, this surgery can be safe and humane." .
