Clever and expressive, red foxes are found throughout most of North America. Although they can survive in habitats ranging from the arctic to temperate deserts, red foxes prefer areas with a mixture of forest and fields. This adaptability means they can even thrive near urban areas in parks and golf courses, where they view humans with a cautious curiosity.
