Not only do you look more lean, you actually weigh less too! Weight is reduced as a result of respiration, perspiration and urination (if you get up to use the bathroom during the night) Up to 80% of weight loss during sleep is from water.
The visual look of appearing more lean, is also down to simply understanding that overnight you aren't putting food into your body; anything you eat will affect both your weight and the shape of the digestive tract. During the night, food you ate the day before has been mostly digested.

Yep! By on average 0.5 Inches (1 - 2 cm) (for a short period every morning, I can technically get away with saying I‘m 6’2 🤷🏾♂️😬)
