It’s easier to go on autopilot and scroll through devices after a long day or when there’s been little sleep, but it’s more rewarding when we make room for the things that nourish us well. Perhaps a stroll outside, reading a chapter in that book, making a delicious meal, laying in the grass and counting the constellations, going for a bike ride, wandering through the woods, spending quality time with loved ones, writing in your journal, getting out your paints, learning something new, pondering only on what you are grateful for? The possibilities are endless. How will you nourish yourself today? . . . Lately my quiet pull has been to start sketching again. I used to have a daily practice of it, even if it was just ten minutes out of my day, and it ended up being an incredible catalyst that opened up so many other creative avenues and endeavors. Right now, it’s easier for me to write in my journal, but I am feeling the nudge to expand that into drawing again. I’m out of practice, it’s not as fluent to approach, but I keep hearing my heart say, “Please create a picture. Go outside and draw. Trust me.” . . .
