In the US, one in five girls say they have missed class or had to go home due to a lack of menstrual products at school, according to a recent survey. Beginning in the fall, public schools in Boston are trying to fix that with a pilot program to bring free menstrual supplies to grades 6 through 12. "Offering free, easily accessible menstrual supplies means that more students will have access to the supplies they need, and are able to stay in class and focus on their education,” a school official said.
