On this day in 1978, the festival that would become the first @SydneyMardiGras took place. What started as a solidarity march on the anniversary of the Stonewall riots has today become the biggest LGBT+ festival in the world.
This costume, 'Cotton Blossom' was designed by the late Ron Muncaster for the 1994 parade.
