Repost from @thehubblescope because this is the truth and THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE.
The Cygnus Loop Nebula in Ultraviolet. This supernova remnant is 1,500 light years away and exists due to a massive stellar explosion around 7,000 years ago. The supernova caused a shockwave which heated the filaments of gas and dust within and the waves are still spreading outward from the original explosion. If you were on Earth when this supernova occurred you could easily view it with your bare eyes.
