Almost 20 years ago (camera date is wrong . It was 2000).
This was my first night at North Carolina School of the Arts @uncsadrama .
My parents had left to go back home to Cancun and I was on my own for the first time.

English was my second language, (just communicating in English was rough, now imagine acting, ha!). I didn’t know this country, I didn’t know anyone in NC, BUT... I knew that I was going to get to do what I loved and longed to do on an everyday basis and that was freedom to me.
I was excited but shit terrified! (as you can see from my blank expression in the picture). Today, that 17 year old aspiring actor is able to continue doing what she loves and it’s got a lot to do with the people that helped me acquire and learn how to use the tools that would get me here.

I am so proud to have been a part of such a great school and group of teachers.

I fell madly in love with the craft of acting because of this place.

krayrah i’m strongly considering auditioning to attend there in the fall of 2021! any advice on going to college for acting/ film in general? it’s always been my dream to work in the film industry both on and behind the camera, any advice you could give me would be a great help.

rx_harmacist I 100% recognized the dorm and then read that it was UNC! I grew up 20 minutes away and spent a lot of time going there to see friends that went there for college! Wow I had no idea you went to UNC! ♥️
