“Friends” was shot in a studio in L.A., and the Friends’ favorite coffee house, Central Perk, exists only as a stop on the Warner Bros. studio tour in Burbank, California. But tourists still flock to 90 Bedford Street, the West Village building that was featured in establishing shots for Monica’s apartment. Why? At the link in our bio, Michael Schulman investigates. Too close to home and they helped to ruin Bleeker Street. First with cupcake shops then with a row of redundant Marc Jacobs stores. Now Bleeker Street, that part@is mostly boarded up. Small shops too expensive ?????

Yup, lived there for 5 years and had to tell knocking tourists that I didn’t live in Monica & Rachel’s apartment at least once a week. ;)
