Spent many hours talking with my grandfather about birds and conservation. It’s a year today since he died. ⁠

Here we are talking about David Attenborough and me winding him up about the birds that have had their names changed. Some ‘francolins’ are now called spurfowl and some ‘plovers’ are now called lapwings. He hated the changes but loved being teased.⁠

We also both love owls.⁠
