To the guy who caught the MVP’s ball, you’re the real MVP.

Many athletes are in no shape to be role models for our children, but @miketrout is MUCH different! I am glad my son has a role model like mike as he displays humility, kindness, and has great work ethic. Also, kudos to the gentleman who caught the ball for that kid. Most would have kept it for themselves and put it on eBay...?#walkinghalloffamer

@miketrout is the best! Last summer my son had just broken his arm during an all star game. Mike caught the ball turned to my son & threw it right to him. He is a huge Trout fan and has been for years. I’m so thankful that Mike did that for him, it really cheered him up during a difficult & depressing time for him.

Not that there’s anything wrong with keeping the ball for yourself....this new phenomenon of being required to give it to a kid to avoid being seen as a jerk is going a little too far. That kid wasn’t even going for it and was nowhere near it. It’s a nice gesture, but he’s not wrong if he doesn’t do it either.

My son got a practice ball from one of the media guys doing a story on the field and i will never forget his face when the guy handed him the ball. These are the best moments

Amen to that.. My husband said at that moment, “sure hope that ball went a kid”. So yeah, thank you for posting this. It restored my faith in humanity😄

@angels you should’ve given this guy a beer or something to promote this behavior. Most adults at these games are poor examples. This man is awesome.
