louiecota77 @jerryalchy909 - Not only the lack of the farm system, but the failure of Eppler and the scouts to bring players to Anaheim that will make a difference. Sure, they’ve been lucky by getting a couple of players that produced (LaStella & Goodwin), but the failures (Harvey, Cahill, Cozart, Bour, Lucroy, Buttery...etc) heavily outweigh the success. The scouts and the GM are failing this team and they are VERY lucky that Trout is as loyal as he is and signed a long term deal.

louiecota77 @mikemoore_24 - The fact if the matter is that Upton is another mistake made by Eppler and the scouts. Eppler did NOTHING but handicap this team by giving 105 million to Upton, who DOES NOT deserve it. Same for Cozart, Harvey, Cahill, Bour...etc. Goodwin is being paid the league minimum and is outperforming Upton by a LONG shot. The Angels would have to eat some of Upton’s contract, but it can be done if they wanted to move him for pitching.
