I first came to know her on Instagram when Kojiro Matsumoto @kojiro_m curated her show at the Shinjuku Ophthalmologist (Ganka) Gallery @gankagarou .I asked him to introduce us and got to meet her. She is still a senior at university and paints her works in her studio at school. Though there is no knowing what will become of her, for sure she is energetically producing works brimming with youth. Watching her continue to paint all night to complete her works leading up to the show, I couldn’t help but feel bittersweet, fresh yet painful youth in full bloom. I hope you’ll come see such paintings of youth yourself. くらやえみさん @emikuraya の個展。昨日より始まりました。そもそもくらやさんを知ったのは、こうじろうさん @kojiro_m がキュレーションした、新宿眼科画廊 @gankagarou での展覧会の記事をInstagramで見て、こうじろうくんに、紹介をお願いして、出会いました。今、まだ、大学の4年生で、作品も学校のアトリエで描いていて、今後どうなるのか、サッパリわかりませんが、兎に角若さが吹き出してる作品をグングン描き続けて、展覧会の前日も完成出来ていない作品を徹夜で筆を入れて行く姿に、甘酸っぱい清々しくも切ない、青春そのものを感じました。そんな青春絵画を、ぜひ一度見てみてください。 @kaikaikikigallery」8月3日 7時34分
