Had an almost bad fall on my butt (onto a pad, luckily) when my left hand suddenly slipped off from around the corner. Actually rolled backwards and ended up upside down but all’s good and I’m happy I despatched this quickly.⁣ ⁣ Real rock has a lot to offer, and I’m always amazed at how nature has carved these boulders with holds for us to climb on. It’s a whole new playing field outdoors with so much for me to learn from and committing is an entirely different game when the landings are sketchy. This is how I fell in love with the sport though - vicariously through old climbing films like the Dosage series. I’m psyched about bouldering outdoors even more now.⁣ ⁣ You learn more about yourself as you assess the situation - I was gunning for another send on a line called The Quickening, but I bailed and decided to pack it up because it felt too rash a decision to rush the send over a sketchy landing, with only half an hour of light left.
