🇺🇸Antwerp Central Station, a glass and steel cathedral in the heart of the city will be inaugurated in 1905 after 10 years of work.
It is one of the jewels of Belgian architecture, wanted by the king-builder Leopold II.
Fine marbles, an imperial staircase, multiple gilding and a gigantic glass roof are all traces of this era of grandeur of the past.

🇫🇷 La gare d’Anvers-Central, véritable cathédrale de verre et d’acier située au cœur de la ville sera inaugurée en 1905 après 10 ans de travaux. C’est l’un des joyaux de l’architecture belge, voulue par le roi bâtisseur Léopold II. Marbres fins, escalier impérial, dorures multiples et verrière gigantesque sont autant de traces de cette époque de grandeur du passé.

Millions of Congolese died. Leopoldo II was worse than Hitler. They estimate that 10-15 million Congolese were murdered during his dictatorship. So he could use the funds to build things like this station.
