The Gujo dance(#郡上おどり) of Gifu Prefecture, one of Japan’s top 3 Bon Festival andces(#日本三大盆踊り), is loved by many for its long history and easy dance steps. . Originally, the Gujo Dance came from the Furyu dance, a dance to the sound of Taiko drums and whistles, and the Nenbutsu dance, a dance to worship Buddha. During the Edo period, the Gujo dance became an official Bon Festival dance.🎇✨ . Endo Yoshitaka(#遠藤慶隆), leader of early Gujo doman, created this dance in hopes to create unity within the town. Since then, the dance has not changed one bit. . Throughout the years, the Gujo dance became a major dance within the area. In result, there are 10 versions to the dance. The Gujo dance differs from the Awa dance in that there is no separation between men and women. This dance is enjoyed as a whole!✨🎐 .
