Sunday stretch 🧘🏻‍♀️

In order to get the most out of stretching, you must be fully in your body.
Movement is the quickest way for me to get out of my head and into my body.
It’s always my first choice of meditation as it allows me to gently exit my thoughts and ground down into the moment.
Being in your body also allows you to move intuitively instead of thinking about what you should do next.
Your body is intelligent. It knows what it needs. All you need to do sometimes is feel it.

I drop in here with a few deep breathes and rhythmic movements.
Then it’s just feeling my body and letting it guide me on what needs to be stretched.
There’s a focus on feeling before moving instead of thinking of a shape and trying to fit my body into it.
Notice that there’s no forcing, pulling, or jerking. I’m conscious of my alignment and moving slowly.

If mindful movement is foreign to you, be patient. It’s taken me years of consistency to develop this relationship with my body. It takes constant work and commitment, but your vessel is worth it.
You only get one body to carry you through this life.
Put on your favorite chill music, roll out the mat, close your eyes, and be where you are. 💫
