This is ChiChi who I recently met while @dkarsting (Darla) was fostering her. Darla commissioned me to paint this portrait and wanted me to spend time with this little angel and hear her story. It’s a long one that starts like a nightmare but here’s a super abbreviated version in Darla’s words. "It took an incredible bunch of people from all around the world doing a million little things to save this fluffy little dog and keep her safe. When one woman chose to save a little puppy being beaten on a chain and refused to give up on her it created a snowball effect. Wonderful people who didn’t know each other, didn’t know this dog, and didn’t even speak the same language chose to do just a little thing that added up to a big thing for #ChiChiFromChina. ChiChi was rescued twice in China, flew through South Korea, Las Vegas, California, Georgia, and New Jersey staying in many homes (and beds) all along the way before finding a forever home in Manhattan. This sweet little queen bee is now quite fluent in Chinese, English (British, Canadian, and American), Russian, Spanish, Lebanese, Finnish, and a bit of Romanian 😉 🇨🇳 🇷🇴 🇬🇧 🇱🇧 🇺🇸 🇷🇺 🇫🇮 💪
No job is too big when done together by all believe there is goodness in the world. TchiTchi/ChiChi/Kiki/Bella now Ruby touched many hearts on her world tour and now everyone involved can have a beautiful little reminder of a special little dog.” Thank you Darla and thank you to everyone involved.
