テス・ホリデーさんのインスタグラム写真 - (テス・ホリデーInstagram)「Hi, I’m Queer 👋🏻 This was photo was taken 3 weeks ago today when I had the honor of closing the @londonqueerfashionshow alongside these glorious humans. As someone that’s only been openly queer for a year, it was a very important, and emotional moment for me. I’ve known I wasn’t “straight” for a long time, but didn’t quite know if it wasn’t something I wanted to talk about publicly, mostly because I didn’t know how. (& I’m still learning, so bare with me) I grew up in the “Bible Belt” of Mississippi and life was already hard enough being fat, and I knew throwing the fact that I had crushes on people other than cis men would mean the possibility of losing my family and friends, and being bullied in school even more than I already was. So I didn’t date, at all. The only two relationships I’ve had in my life were with men, and even though my last relationship was with someone who is queer, I didn’t fully understand my own sexual identity until recently... and that might change & I’m okay with that. I’m proud of who I am, and who I’m becoming and I’m even happier to have such a big community of friends in the LGBTQ community that are teaching me so much about myself just by existing. (I’m tagging some of my fav humans below!) #nationalcomingoutday is wonderful and it makes my heart so full reading everyone’s stories, but remember that it’s a choice. For some, they aren’t able to because it’s not safe for them, they don’t have the luxury to share their truth and to live how they choose. My heart is with those today that aren’t able to, and it doesn’t make y’all any less valid. I see you and I love y’all.
