今日の和菓子：天の海
天の海に　雲の波立ち　月の舟　星の林に　漕ぎ隠る見ゆ　(柿本人麻呂) （大意）
果てしなく広がる天の海に、雲の白波が立ち、
その海を月の舟が漕ぎ渡って、星の林に隠れて行くのが見える。

一昨年同様、有斐斎さんが主催する「手の中の自然 京菓子コンテスト」に応募していた作品が入選しました✨今回のテーマは、令和にちなんで万葉集。私は月明かりに照らされた星空を大海原に見立てた上記の歌を和菓子にしてみました。
受賞作の和菓子たちは11/2-17日まで、京都の歴史ある建造物である有斐斎弘道館、及び旧三井家下鴨別邸で展示されるので、お近くに行かれる予定のある方は是非足を運んでみてください。

Today's Wagashi : Sky Ocean

In the sea of heaven
cloud waves rise and
the moon boat sails
into a forest of stars,
then is seen no more
This Japanese confectionary inspired by the Japanese traditional poem (Manyoshu) was selected to display in a Wagashi exhibition as a part of the Kyo-gashi competition by Yuhisai, Kyoto. I am very honored to receive this award. The exhibition is held from Nov, 2nd to 17th at Kodokan-Yuhisai in Kyoto. It worths to come and see all of the beautiful art of Wagashi.
