She, like many Native American and Indigenous youth, has overcome incredible obstacles and losses to become an activist, and continues to organize for Native American rights and for the environment. In February 2018, on the one-year anniversary of the end of the Standing Rock protests, and for the first time since then, Jasilyn picked up the staff she carried at Standing Rock. "It felt like picking up a piece of me that had been missing," she said.
