Cape Sata, is the southernmost point of mainland Japan, lies on the same latitude as New Delhi, India and Cairo, Egypt.
The climate is warm even in winter.
Off the coast lies Japan's oldest extant lighthouse, designed by an Scotsman in the early Meiji period.

*Please be suitably attired for walking as the trail to the southernmost tip is about 800 meters long.
